Unified Pieces

Unified Pieces is a Black-owned puzzle company based in the United States, founded by Gamaliel “MEEZY” James — a passionate puzzle enthusiast with a vision. Its mission is to showcase a diverse and captivating range of puzzle images that are often underrepresented in the puzzle world.

Each collection is carefully curated, bringing together artists and designers from across the globe. During the pandemic, while searching for puzzles, Gamaliel noticed a glaring lack of representation — particularly of Black people and the urban diaspora. Most available puzzles leaned heavily into stereotypical or overly feminine themes: nostalgic scenes, fine art, and the occasional abstract. Graffiti-inspired puzzles were rare.

Unified Pieces aims to change that narrative. It believes assembling a puzzle can be a powerful, meditative, and unifying experience — whether shared with loved ones or enjoyed in solitude. Its products are made from 100% recycled ESKA Blue board and eco-friendly ink.
